GRIGORI
Bartleby is a Grigori, also known as a Watcher, a certain denomination of Archangel able to read the soul like a book - specifically and especially, their sins. Bartleby can see the good and the bad, the stains and indiscretions in which people have partaken in the past. These could really range from mass fucking murder to... stealing a candy bar from a grocery store*.
This is just a little post to ask:

- can he peep the goods
- what kind of shit have you been up to, punk
This stuff may be irrelevant - hell, chances are he's probably not even going to bring it up in the conversation. He's not really some vigilante here to lecture all the murderers and thieves of the ship; quite frankly, he couldn't care less. You see enough genocidists (and you live with one for long enough) and you stop sweating the small shit. This is mostly just to figure whether he's talking to Mother Theresa or, like, Hitler and Skeletor's assbaby who pisses pure liquid malevolence and etc.

Is there even a soul for Bartleby to see? Yes.
Is it okay for him to see it? Yes.
What sort of things might there be to see on their soul? BASICALLY MOTHER THERESA. But no in reality Nill was about to be forced into prostitution before she was rescued by a gunslinging albino. She was literally about ready to be raped for the first time, that is how close things got. But she was saved and has spent the past few months living in a church with a blind priest so there's that. P.S. Prostitution was not a thing of her choice; she was a genetic experiment, which left a pair of small angel wings grafted to her back and no vocal cords in her throat. In her world, people (especially children) with... animal parts... are kind of a huge fad, and people like to have sex with them for some reason. So Nill is pretty afraid of men who look over the age of like, sixteen. CAN I MAKE THIS ANY MORE DEPRESSING.
